Drive to remove dwellers at risk in Bandarban

Bandarban Correspondent: Bandarban district administration has started a drive to take dwellers living riskily on the foot of various hills in the district to a safe shelter.

Ali Noor, assistant commissioner of the district administration, conducted the drive on Saturday morning in presence of municipality secretary Towhidul Islam and councillor of ward no 3 Ajit Kanti Das.

The drive was conducted at remote hill areas--Kalaghat, Boruar Tek, Fencighona, Ranir Char, Gajnia para where people are living putting their lives at risk.

During the drive, it was warned that action will be taken against those who will refuse to go to safe shelter.

The officials of the district administration came up with the directives following the deadliest landslides triggered by heavy rain in the area, leaving six people dead.
