EC finalizes agenda for dialogue on 11th general election

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has finalized agenda for the dialogue with the civil society members to be held on July 31 over the 11th national parliamentary election.

M Asaduzzaman, director (Public Relations) of EC secretariat, confirmed the news on Friday.

The agenda includes formulating the existing English framework specially "The representation of the people order-1972" and "The Delimitation of the constitution ordinance-1976" in Bengali language after making them update, proposal from the experience of last elections for reforming the legal framework to prevent the uses of muscle power and illegal money, fixing up the demarcation of the population, along with the number of voters, the size of the parliamentary area, the administrative integrity and the communication system, using digital technologies.

Besides, the agenda includes proposals to reform legal framework for updating polls system and making it easy and to enact a law to ensure casting votes of emigrant voters.

There are also more in the agenda- proposals to update the other structures described in the roadmap, suggestions to make an accurate voter list and distribute it and to update activities for setting up polling centers, proposals for registering new political parties and auditing the registered parities and new ideas away of the roadmap to increase capability for holding fair election.
