Eid train trips begin

Staff Correspondent: Train trips on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr have begun.

The first Eid trip began through Dhaka to Sylhet Parabat Express from Wednesday morning.

Home-goers, who collected tickets on the first day of Eid sale, started their journeys to native village to enjoy the Eid.

However, there was no crowd at Kamalapur railway station premises as it was the first day.

Parabat Express left Dhaka around 6:35am to Sylhet while Sonar Bangla Express around 7:00am to  Chittagong.

Egarosindhu to Kishoreganj and Tista to Dewanganj (Jamalpur) left Dhaka around 7:15am and 7:31am respectively.

Mohanagar Provati for Chittagong and Neelsagor for Chilahati (Nilphamari) started journeys around 7:48am and 8:00am respectively.

However, though Rangpur Express was scheduled to leave Dhaka at 9:00am, it started journey around 10:15am.

According to rail authorities, the train reached Kamalapur late. It also needed to change a bogy. So, it took an hour to leave Kamalapur station.
