Eight killed in Italy building collapse

International Desk: At least eight people were killed including two siblings as an apartment building crumbled near the southern Italian town of Naples.

Though the four-storey building, which was constructed in 1950, collapsed early Friday, rescuers managed to recover the bodies from under debris on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday, just after the building collapse, fire fighters said eight residents of the apartment were missing.

On Saturday, national fire brigade spokesman Luca Cari said, "We recovered all the bodies… We found them all dead."

He said search and rescue operations had ended and that the eight victims included two young brothers, aged 14 and eight.

A probe body was formed to determine the cause of the collapse.
