Ex-MP’s son shot dead in Gazipur

Kaliganj Correspondent: Habibur Rahman Faisal (26), son of former MP Mokhlesur Rahman Jitu Miah, was shot dead by terrorists on Sunday night.

This incident happened around 10.00pm at the village of Vadgati under Kaliganj municipality.

Locals said that at around 10.00pm, the sound of bullets was heard in a remote place near Faisal's house. At that time the locals saw a Rimon fleeing and Faisal's body lying there. The locals rescued Faisal and took him to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex but the duty doctor declared him dead.

Physician of Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex Sultan Mahmud Sikder said that the patient was brought to the hospital while he was dead.

The body was sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately, police said.

Mokhlesur Rahman Jitu Miah was elected MP from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party in 1979 and in 1988 as an independent candidate.
