Staff Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has rescued noted columnist and writer Farhad Mazhar from Noapara of Abhaynagar upazila in Jessore on Monday night.
Acting on a tip-off the law enforcers conducted a search inside a bus of Hanif Paribahan on the highway under Noapara Police Station around 11:30pm and found him.
Mizanur Rahman, assistant director at the RAB headquarters, confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
Earlier, his family members alleged that some quarters had abducted the writer and demanded TK 35 lakh as ransom from him.
Farhad Mazhar went missing since he left home at Shyamali in the capital sometimes after 4:30am on Monday.
