Freedom fighter shot dead in Khulna

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: Miscreants shot a freedom fighter to death at Rayermahal school ground on Wednesday night.

Four people were also injured in the incident.

The deceased was identified as Shahadat Hossain Mollah, 65, of the area.

Sumon Ranajn Sarker, senior assistant police commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), confirmed the news.

He said Shahadat along with four to five others had been sitting at Muhsin school play ground, adjacent to Rayermahal Bazar. At that time, miscreants fired on them, leaving Shahadat dead on the spot.

Liakat, Jewel, Mostofa and Bulbul also received bullet injury in the incident. They were admitted to Khulna Medical College and Hospital, he added.

He, however, could not tell motive behind the killing.
