Gazipur boiler blast: Legal notice served

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A Supreme Court lawyer has served a legal notice to the authorities concerned, seeking arrest of MultiFabs Ltd owner over the incident of a boiler explosion in the district's Nayaparha.

The notice was sent to the home ministry secretary, IGP, Gazipur deputy commissioner, Gazipur police super and Joydebpur OC via postal mail by the Supreme Court lawyer Saifur Rahman on Thursday.

According to the notice, at least 13 people were killed and 50 others injured in the boiler explosion at the garment factory in Joydebpur upazila of Gazipur on Monday evening.

Following the incident, the factory owner filed a case against victims including Salam, Ershad and Monsur Haque.

Victim Salam's son said that his father worked in the factory for 24 years. The factory owner forced his father to join work on that day when the outdated boiler exploded. So, the factory owner and high officials cannot avoid their responsibility over the incident.
