‘Govt continues contact with organizations working on vaccine’

Health Secretary Abdul Mannan has said the government has continued contact with the organizations around the world that are working on the coronavirus vaccine.

He said this to reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday noon.

He said “We will collect coronavirus vaccine from them who will make the vaccine first”.

He said Bangladesh has been associated with the Corona Foundation. China’s Sinovac Biotech became successful in two stages of trial. It will be applied in human body before marketing. The International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) will test the effectiveness of the vaccine in human body in Bangladesh.

He also said that the Chinese company thinks it needs 4,200 people for the third phase of trial. We have enough people in corona hospitals.

“It will take at least six months to complete the trial,” he added.
