Govt to import 10 lakh MT fuel in Jan-June

The government decided to import around 10.30 lakh metric tons of fuel to meet the domestic demand in January to June this year.
The authority will require to spend about Tk5,142.51 crore, to procure this bulk fuel.
Sources said, the state-owned Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) import 50 percent refined fuel through government-to-government (G-to-G) initiative and rest 50 percent through open international tenders.
On October 30, the Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase approved the proposal to import the bulk fuel.
