House demolition illegal, claims Moudud

Staff Correspondent: The demolition of Gulshan house is illegal, claimed BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed.

The BNP stalwart on Sunday came up with the reaction over the demolition of his Gulshan house by Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) started in the moring.

He said, "No order by the court, even no notice. They (Rajuk) are doing this with their own force. Power is now stronger than the law."

"A writ petition over the house is under trial in High Court (HC) which is scheduled to be heard on July 2.  A title suit is also pending under another court. I think, the operation is nothing, but negligence of the court which is sub-judice.

Earlier, Rajuk started demolishing Moudud's Gulshan house around 9:00am on Sunday.

On June 7, Rajuk took control of the house as state property in compliance with court order.
