Housemaid's death: Employer, watchman remanded

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has placed employer Moeen Uddin and his watchman Tofazzal Hossain Titu on three-day remand each in a case filed for mysterious death of housemaid at the capital's Banasree.

The court has also sent Moeen Uddin's wife Shahnaz to jail in the case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Moinuddin Siddique passed the order on Saturday.

Earlier, Manzur Rahman, Inspector of Khilgaon Police Station, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced them before the court and sought seven-day remand for them each and filed a plea to send Shahnaz to jail for fair investigation into the case.

Laily Begum, 25, who used to work as a part-time housemaid at the house of Moeen Uddin, was found hanging with ceiling fan at house 14, road 4 in Banasree on Friday morning.
