Ishwardi train derailment: Two loco masters suspended

Pabna Correspondent: Two loco masters of intercity train "Chitra Express" have temporarily been suspended on charge of negligence in duty as the train derailed in Ishwardi.
They are loco master Robiul Islam and his assistant, also assistant loco master, SM Ahsan Uddin.
Bangladesh Railway (BR) authorities (West Zone) suspended them on Monday evening.
Ashim Kumar Talukder, Railway's Divisional Manager (Pakshi), said they were temporarily suspended as two bogies of Dhaka-bound Chitra Express from Khulna derailed while crossing Muladuli Rail Station on Saturday noon, leaving several intercity trains and the trans-boundary train Maitree Express got stranded at different stations across Rajshahi division.
"Probe body formed in this connection is working to uncover the reason behind the accident, he added.
A four-member probe body convened by Shawkat Jamil Mohsi, divisional transport officer of West Zone of BR at Pakshi, was formed after the incident, he said.
