'Khairul Haque took stand against judiciary'

Staff Correspondent: Supreme Court Bar Association President Advocate Zainul Abedin said that Law Commission Chairman and former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque took stand against the judiciary over the verdict of 16th constitutional amendment.

He said, "Former chief justice ABM Khairul Haque cancelled the fifth constitutional amendment from his preconceived with irrelevant and pre-planned motives while he announced the judgment over the acquisition of Moon Cinema Hall. He also made the verdicts of fifth and 11th constitutional amendment controversial. And so, he is noticing smell of pre-plans in cancelling the 16th amendment."

Zainul Abedin said this in a press conference  at the auditorium of the Supreme Court Bar building on Thursday.

"With his remarks over the 16th amendment, Khairul Haque took stand against the independence of the judiciary and the democratic ruling system," he added.
