A person was rescued alive from the capsized launch 13 hours later after it sank in Buriganga River on Monday killing 32.
The survivor was known as Sujon Bepari.
Fire Service and Civil Defence control room’s duty officer Kamrul Islam told risingbd around 11:00pm that divers were trying to lift up the launched on water. The survivor in shirt and pant was noticed when the launched was lifted a lit bit up around 10:30pm. He was taken to Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital. He is now doing well.
The launch, Morning Bird, was capsized when it collided with the Moyuri-2 vessel in Buriganga around 9:15am, leaving 32 people dead.
