Staff Correspondent: A legal notice has been served to law commission Chairman and former chief justice ABM Khairul Haque seeking withdrawal of his statement over the verdict of 16th constitutional amendment within 24 hours.
Supreme Court lawyer Sultan Mahmud sent the legal notice via registry post on Sunday.
According to the notice, ABM Khairul Haque delivered "offensive" comments over Chief Justice and the judiciary while criticizing the verdict of 16th constitutional amendment. So, he should apologize to the nation.
Legal steps would be taken if he does not withdraw his statement within 24 hours, the notice revealed.
