London fire: 5 Bangladeshis of a family missing

Hossain Ahmed, Moulvibazar: Five members of a family in Sadar upazila of Moulvibazar district have remained missing since last Tuesday following a fire that ripped through a 24-storey block of flats in London, leaving 17 people dead.

Komru Mia, who had been living at the flat in the UK for a year, was reported missing. The 90-year old had two wives. He used to live in the UK with his second wife Razia Begum and four children. His four children are Abdul Hakim, 35, Abdul Hamid, 32, Abdul Hanif, 25 and Husna Aktar Tanima, 20.

Julekha Bibi, 75, first wife of Komru Mia, lives at Foisaura village in Akhailkura union of the upazila with her three children. Her three children are Sujan Mia, 50, Mina Begum, 52 and Rusna Begum, 60.

Komru Mia along with his wife and three children remained missing since last Tuesday when the fire incident happened at the flat.

Komru Mia’s son Abdul Hakim, who was in another building during the fire incident, confirmed the matter over mobile phone to the family living in the country.
