MC College dorm vandalised; students asked to vacate halls

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet:  The authorities of MC College in Sylhet have asked its students to vacate their dormitories by 6:00 pm on Thursday after miscreants vandalised the boys’ dormitory.

The decision came following a clash between two factions of ruling party’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and vandalisation.

At least five students were injured during the incident.

Earlier in the day, the supporters of two groups had been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy in the college. As a sequel, both groups attacked each other at the college hostel.

During the clash, the activists of BCL also vandalised the windowpanes and doors of many rooms of the hostel.

Officer-in-Charge of Shah Paran Police Station Akter Hossain said additional police have been deployed on the campus to avert any kind of untoward situation.
