Man to walk gallows for killing wife, daughter

Magura Correspondent: A Magura court sentenced a man to death for killing his wife and daughter in Mohammadpur upazila of the district in 2011.
District and Session Judge Sheikh Mafijur Rahman passed the order on Wednesday.
The convict is identified as Amirul Islam, 37, son of Sobahan Mollah.
According to case statement, following family dispute, Amirul Islam attacked his wife with a brick, leaving Kabita Khatun dead on the spot on June 5, 2011. Meanwhile, he also strangulated her daughter Jamila Khatun.
Later, Kabita Khatun's father filed a murder case with Sadar police station mentioning Amirul Islam's name.
