More neighbourhoods in city on lockdown

The authorities have put on lockdown more areas in the capital after detecting deadly coronavirus patients.

Police check posts have been setup in those areas to prevent the virus spread. So far in Dhaka, 164 cases have been confirmed as coronavirus positive by the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR). Among them, 84 are in Dhaka. 

New more areas under Mohammadpur Thana were locked down on Tuesday (April 7). The residence of former LGRD state minister Ziaul Haque Zia is located in that area. No one is being allowed to enter or leave the areas as eight persons have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the area. 

Police said, some areas of Taj Mahal road, Agricultural Market, Babor Road, Adabar and Basila were locked down.

Abdul Alim, Officer-in-Charge of Mohammadpur police station confirmed the matter.
