Mother, daughter among 3 killed in road crash

A total of three people, including a mother and her daughter, died in a road accident in Zakiganj upazila of Sylhet on Saturday.

The deceased were known as Nasima Aktar, 22, wife of Sabuddin, their two-year-old daughter Ruhena Begum and Nurzahan, 50, wife of Abdul Kuddus.

Locals said, Zakiganj-bound a passenger bus plunged into a road side ditch as its driver lost control over the steering in Babur Bazar area, leaving three people dead on the spot and injured 30 others.

Later, the injured were sent to Upazila Health Complex and Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Zakiganj police station Officer-in-Charge Mir Mohammad Abdun Naser confirmed the matter.
