Mushfiqur Rahim visits DMCH to see Muktamoni

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Test Captain Mushfiqur Rahim on Saturday visited Muktamoni, 12, who is suffering from an “unknown” disease and being treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Mushfiqur Rahim went to the hospital around 1:30pm and stayed with Muktamoni for around 15-20 minutes.

He inquired about Muktamoni and talked to her family members.

During his visit to the hospital, Dr Samanta Lal Sen, national coordinator at National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of DMCH, was present among other physicians.

The popular cricketer told the ailing Muktamoni that we all are with you and praying for your early recovery, said Dr Samanta Lal.

Asked whether the disease has been diagnosed, Dr Samanta Lal said, “No, the disease Muktamoni is suffering from is yet to diagnose. In what disease Muktamoni is affected may be said in next week.”

Muktamoni’s father Md Ibrahim Hossain said, “I am so much happy to know that a cricketer like him (Mushfiqur Rahim) has visited the hospital to see my daughter and prayed for her. How much I am happy cannot be expressed in words.”

On July 11, Muktamoni was admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of DMCH.

Muktamoni, hailing from Satkhira Sadar upazila, has been afflicted by the disease mainly in her right hand, the condition leading to her hand swelling up like a bee hive.
