Nine brokers held in Rajbari

Rajbari Correspondent: Detectives held nine members of a broker racket conducting a drive at Daulatdia ferry ghat area of the district's Goalanda upazila on Monday night.

The detainees were identified as Moniruzzaman, 48, son of late Sekendar of Uttar Daulatdia, Zinnat Mollah, 30, son of Golam Mollah of Bahirchar, Razib Mollah, 25, son of Rustom Mollah of Kaziparha, Jasim, 29, son of Aken Sheikh of Dulal Bepari parha, Mohammad Sheikh, 23, son of Barek Sheikh of Mridha parha, Kurban Mia, 33, son of late Kalu Mia of Natun parha, Shafiqul Islam, 40, son of late Ismail of Zoran Mollah parha, Rashid Mondal, 42, son of late Belayet of Ujanchar Kumraparha, and Azibar Mondal, 19, son of Rahman Mondal of Afsar Sheikhparha.

Md Obaidur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajbari Detective Branch (DB), confirmed the news.

He said all the detainees were involved in brokerage at Daulatdia to cross transports by ferry for long days.
