No more general holidays, zone wise lockdown from Sunday

The government is going to implement zone wise lockdown, a plan devised to divide areas affected with the Covid-19 around Bangladesh into zones on the basis of the severity of the pandemic, from Sunday (June 7).

The government has already decided to divide areas, hit hard by Covid-19 to be put under lockdown in order to prevent the virus from transmitting further, into the criteria- red, yellow, and green.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, “Though number of infection of coronavirus is increasing, the government is returning to the decision of announcing general holidays. We have finalised the zoning wise lockdown plan which will be implemented across Bangladesh. We are expecting to go for implementation from June 7.”

The plan, once implemented, will help Bangladesh control the spread of Covid-19 transmission more efficiently, said the state minister.
