Don't use of degrees before doctor's names: HC

The High Court (HC) has directed the doctors not to use higher degrees before their names.

If anyone wants to use those titles than he or she has to take permission from Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).

The High Court bench comprised of Justice M Inayetur Rahim and Justice Md. Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on Monday.

The court also issued a rule asking the authority concerned why the failure to shut below slandered private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers will not be declared illegal.

Advocate M JR Khan Rabin moved for the petitioner while advocate Shammi Aktar assisted him during the hearing.

Secretaries to health ministry, home ministry, director general of health decorate, BMDC president, consumer right director general and Inspector general of police (IGP) were asked to reply the rule within next four weeks.
