‘Police not arresting someone without warrant’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that police are not arresting people without warrant. They are arresting the accused warrant issued against them by court.

The Minister on Sunday told this to the reporters a at the Secretariat after a meeting regarding law and order during Dhaka city polls.

He, then, hopes the city polls would be held in fair manners under the supervision of the Election Commission.

The Minister said, “We are ready to follow instructions given EC. The law enforcement agencies are loyal to EC.”

When asked about risky polling centres, he said, “A list will be provided from EC. We will take measures once we received the list.”
