Prisoner dies in Kashimpur jail

An inmate died after falling sick at Kashimpur Central jail-2 in Gazipur on Saturday noon (July 4).

The deceased was identified as Sheikh Ashraf Ali, 69. He was serving life-term imprisonment in Dhaka Pilkhana muder case.

Confirming the matter, Kashimpur Jail-2 jailer Baharul Islam said, the prisoner felt chest pain this morning. He was taken to Shahid Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital in Tongi where duty doctor declared him dead around 12:20pm.

The prisoner was jailed on March 25, 2016, he added.
