Pumping air through rectum: Teenage worker injured

Staff Correspondent: A teenage worker was seriously injured as co-workers pumped air into his stomach through the rectum at Alukanda Stand Bazar area of South Keraniganj upazila in the capital on Monday evening.

The victim was identified as Surja Narayan,15, worker of AR Plastic Factory.

He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in serious condition.

Bahaz Uddin, Sub-Inspector (SI) of South Keraniganj Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said Surja along with his co-workers were making fun with each other as there was no work in the afternoon. At one stage, they locked into an altercation.

Following the altercation, Alison and Philiphone inserted a high-pressure air pump nozzle into Surja’s rectum and filled the abdomen with air, he added.

It was learnt that as Sujra fell critically ill, another co-worker Joy first took him to Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital (Mitford Hospital). Later, doctors referred him to DMCH as his condition deteriorated.
