Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader has urged the authorities concerned to arrange the health department's regular bulletin over coronavirus at least for two days a week without completely shutting down.
The Road Transport and Bridges Minister made the urge while talking to officials of BRTA and BRTC of Sylhet Zone after joining through video conference from his official residence on Wednesday (July 12).
He said If the daily update of the health department over coronavirus infections and deaths is stopped, there may be seen a slowdown among people over the spread of the infection.
At the same time, there is a risk of spreading rumors, so he requested authorities concerned to consider the matter in terms of reality.
He further said some public transports do not comply with the integrated fare as a measure taken for the coronavirus period and there are allegations of driving without complying with health guidelines. Some are transporting passengers on 100 percent seats, breaking their promise to leave half of the seats vacant. It was seen during Eid. This trend was not there before Eid. But it is visible from Eid period that is extremely unfortunate.
