Regent Hospital: Ministry asks Health DG for explanation

The Health Ministry has asked the Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for explanation over agreement on coronavirus test and treatment with Regent Hospital Ltd.

The ministry issued a letter in this regard to Health Directorate DG Abul Kalam Azad on Sunday.

According to the letter, before concluding a contract with a hospital, there is an opportunity to complete the contract for conducting Covid examination/medical activities only if it is deemed appropriate after analysing on-site inspection, permission to operate the hospital, necessary equipment for testing, manpower and lab facilities etc.

The letter directed to give a clear explanation within the next 3 working days of what was considered before the contract with Regent Hospital, what steps were taken to comply with the terms and conditions of the contract and what was meant by the instructions of the higher authorities of the ministry.
