Risingbd stands beside poverty-stricken Faruk Sardar

Risingbd.com, one of the country's leading online news portal, stood beside the poverty-stricken Faruk Sardar by providing him with food materials for 15 days.

Shaheen Rahman, Pabna correspondent of the online news portal, on Monday (April 27) went to the village and handed over the food materials to Faruk, a physically unfit elderly man in Chatmohar upazila of the district. The food items include rice, pulses, oil, soap, hens and other daily essentials.

Meanwhile, Shaheen Rahman provided some cash money to Faruk Ahmed on behalf of Uday Hakim, advisory editor of the portal.

Earlier on April 26, a news surfaced that the poor guy was in starvation due to poverty following the ongoing covid-19 crisis.

Noticing the report, Uday Hakim took immediate steps. He sent some money to the correspondent through mobile banking to stay beside the needy person.

Getting such aid, the family members of Faruk became emotional.

Sazeda Khatun, wife of Faruk said, “We could not eat good foods for so many days. May Allah bless him (Uday Hakim). We are so much happy after receiving this kind of assistance.”

The poor people are suffering most due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Physically ill Faruk Sardar is also facing serious food crisis with his wife, three daughters, a son and two granddaughters. He has been stuck at his house since last five years due to his inability to move.
