‘Rumpa was killed over feud of love affair’

Stamford University student Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa was killed over feud of love affair. Her boyfriend Abdur Rahman Saikat dropped her down from rooftop of a building.

Saikat gave information in this connection in primary interrogation.

Masudur Rahman, Chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media wing, said Saikat gave sensational information in primary interrogation. After verifying the information, it was believed that Rumpa was murdered over feud of love affair.

Detective Branch (DB) of Police held Saikat on Saturday. Later, he was shown arrested in the case.

According to DB sources, Saikat is former BBA student of the same university. He is being interrogated under DB custody. He was held after checking call list of Rumpa’s mobile phone. He made the last call on Rumpa’s phone.

Rumpa, a second-year English student of the private university in Siddheshwari area, was found dead on an alley near the building on Wednesday night.
