Search underway for missing prisoner: IG prisons

Inspector general (IG) of prisons Brig Gen AKM Mustafa Kamal Pasha said, search is underway for an inmate who has remained missing from Kashimpur jail.

The IG of prisons said this while addressing reporters on Friday (August 7).

He said, search is underway in various spots inside the jail. If he goes outside of the jail then detectives will look into the matter. However, it is not clear yet about his position.

Meanwhile he also said, if evidence of negligence is found in this regard then action will be taken.

In reply to another question Mustafa Kamal Pasha said, another inmate was missing in same way. Later, he was found inside the jail. We are looking into the matter. A probe committee has been formed.
