Siblings killed in Kushtia clash

Two brothers were killed in a clash between two groups of people over establishing supremacy at Parbatipur village in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia on Tuesday evening.

The deceased were identified as Nehed Ali, 55 and his brother Gogol Ali, 60. They were sons of Chand Ali. 

Locals said, the supporters of local union Awami League president Abdur Rajjak and ward number 7 Awami League president Firoz Ahmed locked into an altercation on Monday noon over playing cricket.

Later, following this altercation, the two groups again engaged in a clash in the locality on Tuesday evening, leaving Nehed and Gokul critically injured.

They were taken to Kushtia General Hospital where doctors pronounced the duo dead.

Kumarkhali police station office-in-charge Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter.
