Students to get stipends thru mobile banking

The government will provide the stipends through mobile banking to 9,91,582 students.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni made the announcement while addressing stipend distribution programme at Directorate of Secondary & Higher Education on Monday.

Under the project, the government will provide some Tk292,24,92,810 to the students.

Following the steps, students will get the money directly and no middlemen will be able to take benefits. Agrani Bank and bKash will provide assistance in the project.

Md Mahbub Hossain, secretary of Directorate of Secondary & Higher Education, Director General Dr Syed Golam Faruk, bKash CEO Kamal Kadir, Agrani Bank Managing Director Mohammad Shams-ul-Islam and others attended the function.
