Suspected dacoit lynched in Chakaria

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: A suspected dacoit has been killed in a mass beating in the district’s Chakaria upazila.

The incident took place on Thursday morning in Amaner Chhar area of Chakaria municipality.

The deceased was identified as Rokon Uddin (27), son of the late Zafor Alam of East Bheola village.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chakaria Thana Bokhtiar Uddin said a gang of robbers entered the house of Shahab Uddin at night and family members shouted. Villagers chased them and caught two of them. Later, they were given a good beating by the locals. On information, police rescued them and admitted them to Chakaria Upazila Health Complex. Rokon Uddin died there around 10.00am.

The injured is Waj Uddin (26), son of Shamsul Uddin.
