3 held as police cordon off Rajshahi 'militant den’

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Police in a drive detained three people from a suspected militant den in Dangapara village under Tanore upazila of the district early Monday.

The three suspected militants are Ibrahim, 26, his sibling Israfil Alam, 24 and their brother in-law Robiul Islam, 21.

Sumit Chowdhury, additional superintendent of police in Rajshahi said that police detained them Sunday midnight. Meanwhile, the law enforcers recovered two suicidal vests, five rounds bullet, a pistol and a magazine from their home.

Earlier, detectives from Bogra and Rajshahi cordoned off the house around 12:00am. Later, nine people including four children surrendered to the law enforcers.
