Two cops land in jail in Sirajganj extortion case

Sirajganj Correspondent: A Sirajganj court sent two police officials to jail in a case filed for allegations of extortion and abduction.
They are Mainul Haque, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Natuaparha Police Outpost of the district's Kazipur, and Motiur Rahman, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Solonga Police Station.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of the district court Shariful Islam passed the order on Monday afternoon.
Bimal Kumar Chaki, Inspector (Investigation) of Sirajganj court police, confirmed the news on Tuesday morning.
He said Detective Branch (DB) arrested the two police officials in a case filed for allegations of abduction, extortion and intimidation.
Abdur Rafiq, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Solonga Police Station, said a transport businessman filed the case against them on July 14. Later, DB police took it for investigation.
