Two fishermen missing as trawler capsizes

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Two fishermen went missing as a fishing trawler carrying 14 fishermen capsized in Bay of Bengal due to disastrous weather. 12 fishermen were recovered in this connection.
The missing fishermen are identified as Belal, 50 and Mong, 25. Both of them hailed from Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Among the recovered fishermen, Robi said 14 fishermen went for fishing in the sea with a trawler owned by Jasim Uddin, a resident of Chakaria upazila. They tried to return to the coast when the trawler faced bad weather. The trawler capsized in an area near Kolatoli, leaving two fishermen missing.
The remaining 12 managed to return ashore, he said.
Later, local people took them to Cox’s Bazar Sadar hospital.
Nobel Kumar Borua, a physician of the Cox’s Bazar Sadar hospital, said, “The recovered fishermen were admitted to the hospital. Legs and hands of many fishermen were broken.”
