Staff Correspondent: Two lighterage ships collided head-on at the outer anchorage of Chittagong port.
The incident took place on Wednesday night.
Sources said that after the collision, a ship started to capsize. Later, coast guard personnel rushed to the scene and rescued the crews of the distressed ship.
Public relations officer Lieutenant Commander Sheikh Fakhruddin at coast guard east zone told risingbd.com that two ships named MV Nayeb and Shantatul Haque collided near buoy no. 1 around 10:00pm, creating a hole in the bottom of Shantatul Haque.
On information, rescue ship of coast guard rushed to the spot and rescued 13 crews, he added.
