UODA student victimized of vulnerable building

Staff Correspondent: University of Development Alternative (UODA) has been seriously injured while he was walking by a vulnerable building in the capital's Mohammadpur.

The injured was identified as Md Akhidul Islam, student of the Department of Arts of the university. He used to live with family in Mohammadpur.

Akhidul was walking in front of house no. 1/B, a three storey building of Mohammadia Housing area, on Friday noon. He got injured seriously as a brick fell on him from the level three of the building.

He was firstly taken to The National Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedics, known as the Pongu Hospital. Later, he was referred to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

From there, he was rushed to the Square Hospital as his condition deteriorated. There he underwent surgery at his brain.

Akhidul's friend said he (Akhidul) got serious injuries at the brain falling brick at his head. He is currently in critical condition.

Jamal Uddin Mir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station, said a case was filed in this connection.
