WB to assist for developing share market: Finance Minister

Special Correspondent: Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said the World Bank (WB) will provide Bangladesh necessary assistance to develop bond market and share market.

The Minister told this to the reporters after WB regional director made a curtesy call on him at his office in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Thursday.

Kamal said WB is ready to give Bangladesh more and more assistance. It will assist us where we need. But for this, we need to increase our capability.

“We have to spend much energy to make development from the position we currently own financially. WB will help us for this,” he added.

The Minister said our bond market is so poor. We have to make it developed. Both government and non-government sectors will join in the market. Share will also boost if the bond market develops.
