Yet-to-be-identified Disease: Blood samples sent to Dhaka

Staff Correspondent: The blood samples of the children infected by an ‘unknown’ disease were collected from Faujdarhat Infectious Diseases Hospital in Sitakunda on Thursday.

Chittagong Civil Surgeon Azizur Rahman Siddiqui told risingbd.com that several medical teams are working in remote area of Tripurapara under Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong. The collected blood samples have been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for laboratory test.

The reasons behind the fever couldn’t be known yet. Some 26 children were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Earlier, nine children reportedly died of viral fever and 46 others fell ill in hilly Tripurapara in the last four days till Wednesday.
