No remittance comes in 9 banks

Inflow of remittances witnessed a remarkable year-on-year growth of 33.6 per cent, reaching US$2,099 million (209.9 crore dollars) in the first 27 days of July.
The latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) said this on Monday.
During the same period last year, the country's remittance inflow was $1572 million.
But nine banks did not receive any remittances; Two were government and specialized, four were private, and three were foreign banks.
Expatriate Bangladeshis sent a record $30.33 billion in remittances in the fiscal year 2024-25 (FY25), marking the highest amount ever received in a single fiscal year in the country's history.
This figure reflects a 26.80 percent increase compared to the $23.91 billion received in the previous fiscal year (FY24).
