BTRC chairman visits Walton factory

Chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) MD Jahurul Haque visited the factory of Walton, electronics giant in Bangladesh, at Chandra in Gazipur on Monday.

The purpose of the visit was to see the factory activities of Walton which has set an example in paying remarkable amount of revenue maintaining proper regulation.

He saw for himself the technological development of export-oriented industry, production process and quality of products.

The 10-member delegation headed by the BTRC chairman reached the Walton factory premises on Monday morning. Managing Director of Walton DG-Tech Industries Ltd SM Manzurul Alam Ovi welcomed them with flowers.

Deputy Managing Director Alamgir Alam Sarkar, Executive Directors Humayun Kabir, Yusuf Ali, SM Rezwan Alam and Col (retd) SM Shahadat Alam, Senior Deputy Executive Director Feroj Alam, Deputy Executive Director Adnan Afzal, Senior Additional Operative Director Mohsin Ali Mollah and First Senior Additional Director Milton Ahmed were present on the occasion.

Arriving on the factory premises, the guests first enjoyed a video documentary on Walton activities. 

The guests visited Walton’s well-equipped product display centre. Then they visited world class refrigerator manufacturing process, metal casting, and compressor, air conditioner, television, SMT production, PCB, computer and mobile phone manufacturing, etc.

It can be here noted that Walton has set up a state-of-the-art factory on more than 750 acres of land at Kaliakair in Gazipur. Various products including refrigerator, TV, AC, laptop, computer, mobile phone, home and electrical appliances, elevator are being manufactured there.
