Serum must return money if fails to provide vaccine: Finance Minister

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said that Serum Institute of India must return money as per agreement if it fails to provide vaccine.

In reply to a query, the Minister told this to reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase on Wednesday (June 23).

Mustafa Kamal, “The Health Ministry will handle the matter of bringing vaccine from the Seram Institute of India. It needs to know how long Serum takes for providing vaccine as per the agreement. India also needs vaccine. We will make a decision considering those reasons. Of course it’s right, if they fail to vaccinate, they will refund the money.”

Responding to another query about the theft of reserves, he said, “We have gone through the legal process regarding the heist money. Those were involved in it or those were in our thoughts, have been sued. It would not be right to comment on this.”
