Second USA-roadshow will be held at Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Washington DC

The second USA-roadshow of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission is set to be held at Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Washington DC on Wednesday (today) two days after the successful roadshow in New York organized on July 26.

The roadshow will start at 10am local time (8pm in Bangladesh Time).

The BSEC insiders said that the Washington roadshow aims to enhance the understanding and accessibility to the business and investment in Bangladesh by discussing the errands with the stakeholders.

The stakeholders meeting will help the investors to understand the business and investment scenario of Bangladesh and will also help the policymakers of Bangladesh to identify and comprehend the necessary steps and formulation ahead to inspire and attract investment.

The roadshow has been arranged in the USA as a part of the celebration of birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.

The main title of the weeklong roadshow is- ‘THE RISE OF BENGAL TIGER: Potentials Of Trade and Investment in Bangladesh.’ The roadshow will run until August 2 in four cities across the United States.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s private sector adviser Salman F Rahman, Senior Finance Secretary of the ministry of finance Abdur Rouf Talukder, BSEC Chairman Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, BIDA Executive Chairman Md Sirazul Islam, BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Md Nazrul Islam will present among others in the second roadshow.

Earlier, the weeklong roadshow, an initiative of BSEC, to showcase the strength and opportunities of business and investment in Bangladesh for the investors abroad, was started from Manhattan, New York on July 26, 2021.

Superbrand Walton’s ten-member high-level delegation joined the mega event as Walton is emphasizing this roadshow in order to make its place among the top giants in the global market soon.

Bangladeshi multinational electronics giant Walton is the center of attention and attraction of expatriate Bangladeshis in this roadshow as it is one of sponsors of this mega international event.

Walton has become the main attraction of the roadshow. Walton display center is decorated with big-screen-display, X-stand, banner and so on. There are meeting spaces for investors in the USA. The video screen will feature a digital documentary on Walton’s production and marketing. A few skilled officers will give investors and visitors a better idea of Walton’s vision and mission.

The New York’s roadshow was consisted of two sessions- Morning and Afternoon. The morning session was held from 9:30am to 12:30pm of local time while the afternoon session was held from 2:30 to 5:30pm local time.

Two sessions were conducted in New York, the morning session were attended by the distinguished NRBs residing in the region, while the afternoon session focused on the foreign investors. Eminent American economist Lawrence Henry Summers, former Chief Economist of the World Bank, was present the keynote paper in the afternoon session.

The third roadshow is scheduled to hold on July 30 at the Inter Continental Los Angeles Downtown, Los Angeles. Developing international trade and investment through both portfolio investment and FDI by the expatriates and foreign investors is the key target of this roadshow, and the distinguished delegates are going to demonstrate the strength and opportunities of rising Bangladesh for investors from abroad.

The final roadshow will be held on August 2 at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, Silicon Valley. To demonstrate the scenario and the opportunities to the investors, the distinguished delegates will join in a US-Bangladesh Tech Investment Summit along with tech industry conglomerates and investors at this roadshow.
