Dhaka International Trade Fair will continue following health safety guidelines at its permanent venue in Purbachal new town although the government issued 11 new instructions to prevent the sudden spike of coronavirus cases including the new variant Omicron.
The month-long fair is taking place at Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in the eastern part of the capital city.
When contacted, senior information officer of the Ministry of Commerce Md Abdul Latif Bakshi said on Tuesday (January 11), “There was nothing about the closure of trade fair in the circular issued by the government to prevent coronavirus cases. The trade fair will continue complying with the health safety guidelines. The fair will be closed if the national committee on coronavirus suggests closure of the fair.”
