JS set to pass budget for 2022-23 FY

A proposed budget of Tk 6,78,064 crore for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-23 is expected to be passed in Jatiya Sangsad (JS) today (June 30).

The budget is supposed to be passed by voice vote in the parliament session with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

The new fiscal year will begin from Friday (July 1) after passing the budget in the parliament session.

Earlier on June 9, the Finance Minister placed a Tk 6,78,064 crore proposed budget for FY23 at Jatiya Sangsad considering recovery from the pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war and also keeping ahead six key challenges with containing inflation as the major one.
