Cabinet secretary visits Walton Headquarter

Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam on Monday (August 08) came to a visit to the electronics and tech giant Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s Headquarter to witness the revolutionary progress in the domestic electrical, electronics and technology products manufacturing industry. 

During the visit, the cabinet secretary is likely to visit Walton’s several state-of-the art manufacturing units like refrigerator, compressor, television, air conditioner, laptop, computer, elevator or lift and some other units.

On Monday (August 8, 2022) noon, Khandker Anwarul Islam reached Walton Headquarter at Chandra in Gazipur.

Walton Digi-Tech Industries Chairman SM Rezaul Alam, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s Managing Director and CEO Golam Murshed welcomed the cabinet minister at Walton Headquarter with flower bouquet.

As the cabinet secretary’s entourage, Senior Strategic Adviser of a2i Program Kamrun Nahar, Senior Secretary of Information and Technology Division NM Zeaul Alam, University Grant Commission’s Member and BSCL’s Director Professor Dr. Sazzad Hossain, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority’s Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Bangladesh Data Centre Limited’s Managing Director Abu Sayeed Chowdhury, a2i Programme Policy Adviser Anir Chowdhury, Joint Project Director Md. Saiful Islam, DC in Gazipur Anisur Rahman were also present.

Among others, Walton’s Deputy Managing Director Alamgir Alam Sarker and Liakat Ali, Senior Executive Director Col. (Retd.) Shahadat Alam, Yusuf Ali and Easir Al Imran, Executive Directors Azizul Hakim and Mohsin Ali Mollah, were also present during the visit.

At Walton Headquarter, the cabinet secretary and his entourage watched a corporate video documentary of Walton. After that, the delegations visited Walton’s well-decorated product display center as well as manufacturing units of several products, including refrigerator, compressor, PCB, television, air conditioner, mold and dye.

Mentionable, Walton has been praised for manufacturing world-class electronics, electrical and technology products. Walton Headquarter was set up on a giant land area at Kaliakair in Gazipur where international standard energy saving products like fridge, TV, AC, laptop, computer, mobile phone, home and electrical appliance, lift etc. have been manufactured.

Along with the manufacturing units, research and innovation centers of different products, quality control departments, global business division and some other departments were established at Walton Headquarter.

The ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labelled Walton made products are being exported to world’s different countries. Walton is moving ahead at the global market with a vision ‘Go Global 2030’ that means- to be one of the best global consumer electronics brands in the world by 2030. To witness the Walton’s recent progress, the cabinet secretary and his entourage made the visit at Walton Headquarter.
